Well, this is my first snare. Watched a bunch of reviews and decided to get this one. Changed the batter head to a Remo Ambassador, put on 1 moon gel and MAN it sounds amazing. Even with the stock snare side head. Compared it to my friends 14x8 Black Beauty and I actually prefer mine (of course haha). Great snare response, great punch. Easily tunable. Obviously perfect for rock drummers.

The only con are the lugs but you can easily fix that with some tension keepers.

Overall I highly recommend this product, Great build quality. Cant wait to gig with this beauty!

IMO Ludwig Supralite 08/14`` is the best buy snare for the price under 250 EUR.
Fits all range of tunning (low, mid and high). I made some upgrade such as combination with Remo head, Ambassador coated for the batter side and Remo hazy snare side and together Puresound snare wire this snare become real Beast!

At first of course it looks just awesome, exterier is fantastic. Unusual one.
This snare has very great steel / chrome finish and that makes it rock.

Yeah, you have to be pretty carefull to not make it dirty with your fingers becouse finish is like a real mirror, but that's nothing. I prefer to use gloves while I am taking it out from hardcase and installing it to protect it from any dust/ fingerprints and keep it perfect clean.

About sound I can tell that it is amizing for this price. Actually it is really cheap for so brilliant, bright tone.
Tone is very universal for lot of music gandres.
Punch is powerfull and very easy to tune it up.

At begining I was scared about this size becouse before I usualy used much smaller snares, but in life it's just amizing, looks prefect and quallity is very very good.

This is my first product from Ludwig and I am suprised about this style, sound, quallity performance. Difinitaly soon I will buy other stuff from Ludwig. I am very satisfied.

I definitely recomend this one, don't be scared of the size if you are, this one is prefect and just right for you.

Fantastic sounding snare for the money, really nice tone and deep body.

However, most of the fittings are cheap quality and all the lugs will de-tune regularly if the drum is hit hard, so getting a set of lug locks is a must.

Awesome snare regardless of it’s price

As the title suggests. This is an insane value. Sounds really good, and even though its depth, it’s still very responsive. Would suggest to change heads though. Other than that, it’s a solid 10/10 for me!

I have a Ludwig Black Beauty too, but I almost prefer this one. I'm using it all the time. Great sound live and in studio. Highly recommended.
