I started off using Hohner sp 20s but have come across to Lee Oskars as I prefer the feel and sound of them. I now have 12 Diatonics and a few Minor key ones.
Note: some of the cheaper harmonicas bought out an allergic reaction on my lips - but not these, the SP20s or the Harley Benton ones(which I consider the best of the cheap harps). Something to think about if you are considering harmonicas and are prone to this problem.
I've been using these Lee Oskar harmonicas for years both for recording and live performances. Never had any problems. The reeds are still after several years of weekly use in good condition producing flawless tones.
They sound good and full, perhaps lacking a bit of the depth of the wood construction harmonicas.
Easy to clean.
I have found Lee Oskar harmonicas the best compromise between value and quality.
They are airtight and loud. I think the reeds are the most durable on the market.
And the availability of replacement plates makes them economical.
