Joyo R-12 Band Controller EQ

I'm using this EQ together with my synthesizers and it works perfectly. I mainly chose this pedal because of the price and the selection of the bands. The EQ bands have not disappointed me. They make a lot of sense for synths.

The only thing I can comment on is that when centering the sliders, they are not exactly centered the same. We are talking about a very, very small variation that does not make any difference in sound and barely in looks either, but I did notice it immediately. On the plus side, they do have a little notch they "click" into when centering, so it's easy to quickly center all the bands.

This is my first EQ pedal, so take this review with a grain of salt. But I am very satisfied with it. I use it for a heavily distorted tone (as in heavy metal/thrash) and it really opens up the possibilities of shaping the sound.

I'm currently using it as a part of the effects loop and have not yet tested it in front of the amplifier.

The lights are a nice touch, as they help me to immediately see the current settings. I thought they would be more annoying than they are.

The build quality feels sturdy, even though I don't plan to beat it up too much.

I have yet to hear any noise in it, but that is probably not an issue since I'm using it for a distorted tone, and have a noise gate connected.
