I use two of these in my livingroom paired with a sub, crossover at 70 hz I think. I use the crown xls1502 for power. Clearly not their intended use but I find they work great. I can have parties as loud as my guests can tolerate and with the same setup just enjoy music.

The sound really is great but I suggest that they are paired with a subwoofer since the low end quickly fades below 60 hz. Especially if used in a home environment where sound quality is more important than volume. For all other frequencies however, the speakers will shine.

I bet you would hear a difference if you compare two of these with a sub, to a "hifi" setup. However, the factors contributing to how a setup sounds, other than the speakers, are numerous. The quality of the files, signal train, placing of the speakers and the room itself. All I know is that my setup sounds great and all my friends agree!
