Harley Benton ST-62 BK Vintage Series

Things change, previous I haven't been fond of Strats, I use to be more of a Gibson guy, but I thought that it would be nice to have a Strat in the army for certain kind of recordings. After reading the reviews I figured that I'll give it a try. This became my first HB and what a guitar. It beats a lot of 3 times more expensive guitars. It beats some of the Fender Mexicans, but don't reach my friends early 90:s Japan Squier. I like the playability and the sound is good, maybe a bit low in output. After this purchase I have started to like the stratosphere :) more and more.
Though, I realized that I prefer Maple necks, so I sold it to a neighbor (and he loves it) and bought a Bach Strat (3 times more expensive) The Bach strat is better, but not as fare as I expected. (I own a Bach Tele that is amazing). If I kept it I would have changed the pickups to something better and everything would be fine. And one more thing. The guitar is one of the best good looking I've seen. I think that I could have bought a more expensive HB and I would have been as satisfied as I am with the new one.
If you are starting to play, buy it. If you are experienced and want something different from what you have, buy it. You can always change som pup:s and other things in the future.

Köpte gitarren 2016, spelas enbart på i hemstudion. Jag är ingen gitarrtekniker men har spelat i 30 år och vet när det känns rätt i mina händer. Halsen på ST-62 är det som stör mig mest. Jag har gitarrer i olika prisklasser med olika halsformer, greppbrädor och bandstavar, olika kan kännas rätt i mina nävar.

Det mest uppenbara störningsmomentet har ett våtslip-papper åtgärdat, lacken på halsen var inte friktionsfri. Jag har polerat bandstavarna och filat ändarna. Formen i sig är rätt skön egentligen, C-form med något att hålla i. Det är radien och bandstavarna som inte passar mina fingrar, det är dock konstigt för jag har andra HB-gitarrer med samma radie och troligtvis samma bandstavar där det känns rätt. Jag har provat med olika strängtjocklekar, men inget har passat riktigt. Just nu är det 0,11-set med grövre strängar i det lägre registret på den och jag stämmer den i D, det känns ändå rätt bra.

Jag har funderat på att köpa en hals helt i lönn istället med 7.25 eller 9.5 radie och vintage-band. De andra delarna på gitarren är jag ändå rätt nöjd med, vissa detaljer ser lite billiga ut (leksaksplast), någon bubbla i plektrumskyddet, men stämskruvarna håller rätt bra även med lätt svaj, mikrofonerna låter någorlunda stratigt.

Min gitarr skickades med rosewood-greppbräda och "3xWilkinson MWSTHA Alnico Vintage ST-style singlecoil".

Skulle jag rekommendera gitarren till en nybörjare?

Buy this one and save some Money for two or more of Harley benton ..No more expensive fancy brands or whatsoever!

I am VERY happy with this brand do yourself a favor and buy this guitar.

I didn't want to spend lots of cash on a new guitar since I'll never be a guitar goddess. This guitar provides the right fun factor with classic solid features for an unbeatable price. The look and feeling is very close to the more expensive Squire models. For me who doesn't have high grip strength the slender 42mm fret neck and low string height makes a huge difference in playing comfortably. The three single coils and 5-way-switch offer a nice enough variety to play different styles. Even without an amp the guitar has a nice and full sound.
The only negative point I noticed and which often comes in this price class are the rather sharp frets but that can be easily adjusted with a metal file and polish. All in all I'm really pleased with this allrounder.
