The braiding of copper is bonded to the core and the surface is polished which assures longevity and resistance to dirt
E and A string: Nylon core wound with copper
D- and G-string: Blank - Nylon
Ideal for jazz musicians and other mainly piz playing bassists, but can also be stroked and slapped

I'm playing mostly Rockabilly.
With these strings you don't have to choose between steel and gut for different sounds or playing styles.
The copper braiding gives enough clarity and sustain for the E and A strings to use pizz when playing "normal". Still they sound enough "Gut" to use as slapping strings.
They are very low tension without being floppy.

What i loved the most is that the tension is surprisingly even over all 4 strings. Something you won't find in most synthetic strings.
I don't use a bow, so I can't tell you what they sound like bowed.

Lovely strings for many styles

I was a little bit scared not being able to use the bow on these strings but the sound is gross. I love these strings. I play 90 % pizz but uses the bow now and then and it works just fine. I have to put a little more pressure with the bow though.
I wanted a thick and groovy sound for bluegrass, jazz and gospel and I got what I looked for. These strings are thick, mind you. I had to drill a larger hole in the string holder. The sustain is a little shorter than with steel strings but that's the price you'll have to pay for this wonderful sound.
My next strings will definitely be the same.

Play great, sound great, however. The E and A turned green and mingin within a month of use.

Medium quality strings for medium quality price.

the strings are a little rough at first but become confortable as you play along. they keep in tune quite good. The Copper wrapping oxidizes quite fast, just keep them clean. Over all medium quality strings for medium quality price.
