Honestly i'm a bit speachless
Bought these very randomly because my old 1000€ pair of studio monitors had developed an unpleasant ground hum, so i'll have functioning monitors while i find time to dig into the circuit boards of the old pair and fix them.
Didn't really expect to be wowed in any way. But i have to say, i am honestly floored by the sound of the Focal Alpha's. It's not a subtle improvement, more like discovering whole new worlds of sound in songs i've heard countless times before, details i never knew were there - the clarity and detail of whatever i've run through them is honestly astonishing.
So there's zero doubt I will be keeping these, repair the old monitors and then sell them. I can't remember the last time i was this impressed by any bit of kit. With studio monitors, a good grade usually means a totally neutral listening experience, so it's tbh really weird feeling this impressed with their sound. Strong contender for best upgrade of the past decade for me, and a total surprise at that.
