Fender Tone Master Pro

We have a hd several goes at this type of box. This is the first one we have not had to refer to the manual. We have acheived our sounds in quite a short period, and found the interface intuitive and easy to use. The sounds are quite clear and easy to customize. Me and the wife both have one and use them differently but have no issues. SO Guitar sounds are great, what about the vocal input? Fine also. In fact we took everything except harmonizing away from our other equipment and just run the output into the desk with no further processing. Easy to use with a sophisticated sound engine which has lots of headroom. We haven't managed to upset it or overdrive them yet. Cons? Not really. Wish list? 1 Autowah 2/ Voval harmonizer. The TMP is the closest to the 'amp in the room' sound that you can currently get from any modelling amp solution on the market. The build quality is unbelievable. The input/output options are all encompassing.

The amps themselves are stunning. The clean tones are out of this world, and the heavier sounds, when dialled in correctly, are dynamite. The cleans come pretty easy, but to get the most out of the high gain amps it will require some tweaking but with the incredibly visual interface, it's just a step away from turning the dials on the amps themselves. Each footswitch corresponds to a dial on an amp head or effects pedal, allowing a physical knob to be turned to alter the sound, as well as the touch screen allowing the same function.

Presets are...fine? But the real joy is experimenting with the endless combinations of amp/pedals/cabs to craft the sound you want. Again, high gain will take some slight tweaking!

The app and PC interface are fantastic, although you will need to update the firmware before you can use Pro Control on your PC, which may throw you for a while if you're not expecting it. The update is a bit of a pain in the arse for the firmware too, but the latest patches add an incredible amount of functionality, new amps/pedals and much more.

Paired with the FR-12, the TMP is the closest you'll get to a real amplifier.
