Fender Pro Junior IV

I was after a simple design to achieve vintage rock tones and this thing gets me there. I experience it being very responsive to dynamic playing. It has huge volume so don’t be fooled by its size. For reference, of the 12 levels of volume, I play mine at 4.5 and it easily stay on top of the band mix. It responds well to the volume pot on guitar. It works well with overdrive and boost pedals. I’ve used mine with humbuckers and single coils and can find great tones with both. I don’t experience the sound being boxy but I keep it off the ground when playing. It warms up quick and can be played within a few seconds. The finish and build quality is as expected. I did take a screwdriver after around 25hrs of use to lightly tighten the cabinet screws. One of the handle bracket screws was not tightened flush against the handle bracket but everything else is well assembled.
I highly recommend this amp. It’s my first tube amp but can see myself being happy with it for many years.

Just got this little beauty and it sounds great! I wanted Fender clean tone and definition in a small package. I play funk, soul, rock, jazz. I gigged with it only two days after getting it in a small club with a loud drummer and other guitars/keys. Totally cut it. I love that it only has two knobs. It seems well built and I'm hoping to get many more years out of it. Tubes seem fine for the moment. I have a 30-watt Laney amp that is just too loud for most situations, so I needed to downsize a bit. This has half the power, weighs half as much, and has all the tone. LOVE IT!

Ich habe mir innerhalb eines Monats den dritten Fender-Amp besorgt. Nicht weil ich die Dinger sammele, sondern weil die Fender-Qualitätssicherung offenbar nachlässig ist. Der Blues Junior in Tweed, den ich zuerst hatte, ging nach 30 Minuten Spiel über die Wupper (Vorstufenröhre), beim Pro Junior III war ebenfalls eine der Vorstufenröhren oder ihr Sockel im Eimer. Bei Thomann bestelle ich dann den neuen Pro Junior IV, hier scheint nun alles in Ordnung zu sein. Die Verarbeitung ist ok, die eine Vorstufenröhre sitzt etwas schief, aber funktioniert.

Der kleinste Fender Röhrenamp ist überarbeitet worden und macht ordentlich Krach, mit 15 Watt ist man natürlich schnell im Overdrive, aber das ist der Sound, den ich will. Auf der Bühne und evtl. im Proberaum werde ich ihn mit einem Mikro abnehmen.
Für ein so kleines Gehäuse schiebt er untenherum auch ordentlich, die schnell einsetzende Röhrensättigung ist ein Fest, jedenfalls für meine Ohren. Würde sagen, dass dies ein sehr guter Amp für Blues ist, der meine Spielnuancen gut unterstreicht und auf sie reagiert.
Ein Grund für die Wahl des Pro Juniors war das geringe Gewicht. Er sieht dabei auch noch richtig gut aus.

Übrigens waren die Mitarbeiter des Ladens, wo ich den Vorgänger ausprobiert habe, überrascht, dass der Würfel so viel Radau macht. Offenbar greifen die meisten zum großen Bruder Blues Junior und haben ihn nicht auf dem Zettel.

Der fehlende Hall stört mich nicht, dafür habe ich Pedale.

Ich wünsche mir, dass der Kleine mir länger erhalten bleibt als die anderen. Fender, bitte mehr in die Qualitätssicherung investieren. Strombetriebene Geräte und Nachlässigkeit sind für mich keine guten Partner.
