Elixir .105 L El. Bass Single String

I bought this as a spare E string to a set of Elixirs that I already owned. (In my experience, it is almost always the E string that has the shortest life time.)

After a while, I have realized that I do not like the Elixirs at all. The tone is sort of dead, even compared to my regular D'addario nickel rounds and I do not like the stiff and slippery feeling.

They also affect the sustain and "dead spots" a lot. My Precision bass has great tone and is very resonant, but with these strings it suddenly "died" and had short sustain and sounded generally "muddy".

It is also worth noting that you can get additional buzz and hum with these strings (I got), since they do not conduct electricity on the surface, so the grounding of your instrument will be affected.

However, there was nothing WRONG with the string, it is just not a product I like a lot.
