I think Pearl was the first company which start producing stainles steel standart 6 mm rods only for snare drums at first, now they do it for all high class sets. After 2015 dw Collectors all come with stainles steel rods. True Pitch 50 rods are great inovation - they offer really detailed tuning, hold tension and that buttery feel while tuning is really pleasant. So changing old rods on a Collectors snare (kit) with the new True Pitch 50 is a great upgrade (plus Magnet trow off and True hoops).
