DR Strings Black Beauties BKB5-45

I always had an aversion towards dressed strings. The ones I've tried before have been dull sounding, like dead strings. But these have almost the same clarity as stainless. A bit rounder in the highs, but it's actually for the better. And they last a really long time!
For me they feel awesome as well. Not as harsh on the fingers as stainless. More akin to the soft, slick feel of nickel plated strings.

(They might get a bit of a rubbery feel if you've got sweaty hands, but it does not hinder your fingers and they do not get sticky in any way)

They are made for 34" scale basses but work perfectly on a 35" top loaded. Sadly, not long enough to string through the body on a 35".

They sound awesome. They feel awesome. But they are a bit expensive.

These are some really really good strings, for your 5 string bass. they don't just look really cool, they feel amazing. and the tone from them are fantastic. I have found just one problem with them. On my active 5 string bass i have noiseless pick ups, which with these strings can be a problem. As soon as i put them on, my pick ups started buzzing and i found out that it was because of the strings. But otherwise i found these strings fantastic and i salute them highly and recommend them warmly. If you want some cool black bass strings, that sound fantastic, these are the strings for you.
