I liked the idea of having four independent LFOs in a small form factor. And my experience so far of Doepfer’s small pots have been very positive. I have the Mini stereo mixer and the Clock multiplier - a total of nine pots with the small rubberized knobs - and they all have a very smooth travel. Not so this module! The pots are just as hard to turn as the older modules. This may not be a problem for you, but it turned me off totally.
Also the front panel was bent and could not be attached to the rails in my rack without warping them a bit. (Seriously, Doepfer...!) The jacks were also not perfectly in line, and one of them was sticking out outside the panel. I could not mount another module next to it without leaving a gap. Really bad QC!
The circuit design is simple but it works. LFO outputs are ok. The LEDs are a bit of a struggle though. As with all diods, these are not lit until the voltage reaches around one volt, so there is quite a big ”gap” where there is no indication at all. This can be compensated for in a circuit design, but as said this is a simple design.
Conclusion: If you can put up with the lacking quality in details, as mentioned, and you really want four independent LFOs in 4 HP, then this might be a good choise.
