DiMarzio DP420 Virtual Solo Aged White

This wasn't a pickup for me. I was after a hot noiseless strat pickup in the P90 territory. Like the SDS-1 but noiseless.

This one is nothing like it. But it is a very, very good pickup if you want to retain the strat sound but need more beef and get rid of the noise. If I wanted a really good traditional strat but hum-free I would go with this one and a couple of Area 58 or 61.

I will still keep it as I reckon it will be useful in the studio. It does retain a lot of the high frequencies but it is not brittle at all and the low end is very articulate, as a true strat pickup should be!
