I came across a Strat clone with a very pronounced bassy resonance instead of the usual medium-high dominant. So it naturally had to be complemented with three bassy pickups. Turned out warm and wood-like, like I hoped. I had postponed doing that job for so long I am ashamed to admit it. If you ask how long I will answer only in the presence of a lawyer.
And when I did the work, one pickup had a faulty coil. But thankfully the externded Thomann warranty played out, and they replaced it in a few days. The new unit has no defect, and the whole set sounds natural; it's easy to adjust, too, the middle ground between too brittle and too rubbery is clear.
Stripping the wires is trouble-free with a simple nail clipper, and soldering was immediate with conductors that soak solder well. The height screws have a generous size, and the springs are strong.
Highly recommended, but geared to guitars with a bassy tone. I don't play them but I suppose baritone six-strings would be a great match.
