I
Set Up, Set Up
This guitar was ordered in October as a Christmas gift, so it was kept stored in its box until then.
First thoughts, it was good. I liked the sound it made and the body was sturdy and felt good.
However, as I started to finger pluck, the bottom 3 strings (E A D) started making this irritating buzzing noise.
I contacted D'Angellico who sent me to my local distributor who sent me to a luthier in town; the only place open during the pandemic.
The guys looked at it and immediately said the action wasn't right, the nut was too high and guitar was buzzing up and down the neck.
I was recommended by Thomann to adjust the truss rod myself, something I had stated I wasn't comfortable with doing myself. Disappointed I'll have to pay in excess of €60 extra to play a guitar I barely played and paid quite a bit for...

D'Angelico = Class & Value!
Out of the box it was ready to gig! I'm comparing it to the higher spec guitars (€1000 and above) i have because the quality falls into that category.
It is now my go to guitar! Best decision i made was buying the D'Angelico.
Bad points: The nut on the input jack came loose and fell off.. somehow entered a black hole and now lives happily in another universe! Luckily i had spares! So after further inspection my advise is to tighten everything that has a thread!
Overall-- Best guitar I've got and the price range is incredible! .. pickup sound sounds fantastic although i don't know just how long it will last as I've already got a dirty slide (yes its kept in a hard road case too)

This is a diamond amongst mud
I have to be frank - this guitar is a hidden gem. I've had a lot of guitars in my life, but this one is just something else. It's super comfortable, the electronics are good and the biggest bonus - once you're plugged in, the electronics are lit up, so you can actually fine tune it. I've played countless shows, records, you name it! When we played an arena, the other guitarist had a Taylor and had huge feedback problems. Not my baby, worked like a charm.
Only thing is - it is possible that you will have to get the frets sharpened up as you get the guitar, but that is a small price to pay for an amazing instrument.
