beautifully finished too. The flaming to the sides and back is really strong and looks great too. I’m really impressed with the Wittner tuners, and I’m going to take off the fine tuner on the e string. Not necessary. The bridge is quite flat at the top which suits me for double stopping and bowing chords across all 4 strings. The sound is good and the fiddle sounds clear right up to seventh position. I also bought a set of Eva Piratzi gold strings which I hope will be a nice upgrade to the dominants it came with. As regards the quality of build I was surprised, because I looked at a cantonate model to start with, and the wood was disappointing. No flaming to mention on the sides and the back was flat too. Much better on the audition model. I guess every fiddle is different, and different things please different people. The Wittner geared tuners are brilliant and it’s a shame Gotz don’t off them as an option on every model.
