A solution for a problem I don't have
The thumb rubber works just fine, it is just that I don't have any problems with a sore thumb, so I do not need it to protect my thumb. In the end, I leave the rubber off my clarinet, because it changes the ergonomics of your right hand in a way I do not like (of want to get used to).

Did not fit
My thumb rest has a ring on it to attach harness. Despite the indent on this rubber, meant to accomodate exactly this type of thumbrest, it simply does not fit. Otherwise it looks like a good quality thumb rubber.
