Audeze MM-100

Tested these against the Sundara, Edition XS, HD490 Pro and Arya Stealth.
The Audeze has the best build quality by far, and with proper EQ they sound perfect to me. Not having "superwide" soundstage like the Hifimans, more inline with listening to a pair of studio monitors. Use the measurements and calculated EQ-settings from Oratory1990!

The non-removable earpads are the only minus for me, although i would prefer pads with velour on the surface touching your heads.

I got these a few months ago, but decided now is the time to review them after using them extensively.

I have had multiple pairs of studio headphones and these are the best by far.

As these are openback they aren't quite suited for recording vocals because of the bleed the microphone will pick up, but for the rest this is an absolute gem of a microphone. Frequencies are well presented (except the bass), the punch is top notch because of the planar magnetic drivers (which you won't find in other headphones at this price range) and they are not harsh or tiring to listen to (unlike the DT990 pros i had, which i love except for the harsh high end).

It's the best you can get at this price in my opinion. Totally recommend it!

Zu aller erst: ich bin ein sehr großer Fan von den Audeze MM-100. warum sollte gleich klar werden.

Pro:
Der erste Eindruck der MM-100 ist großartig. Sie wirken wertig verarbeitet und das 3,5 mm auf 6,3 mm Klinkenkabel, das beiliegt, ist auch exzellent verarbeitet.
Typisch für magnetostatische Kopfhörer klingen auch die MM-100 sehr natürlich und klar. Klanglich finde ich, dass sie einen nicht extrem linearen aber analytischen Klang haben, der auch beim Musikhören überzeugt und was man hier geboten bekommt ist meiner Meinung nach mehr als ein 500€ Kopfhörer. Bässe sind kräftig, ohne das Klangspektrum negativ zu beeinflussen und Höhen sehr detailliert. Auch Genreübergreifend machen die MM-100 einen exzellenten Eindruck.
Die Ohrpolster sind sehr bequem und auch das Kopfband aus Leder. Für die Einstellung der Größe hätte ich mir jedoch ein flexibleres System gewünscht.

Contra:
Leider liegt kein 6,3 mm zu 3,5 mm Adapter dabei, es gibt einen von Audeze, der bei Thomann verfügbar ist und auch exzellent verarbeitet ist. Ob 25€ für einen Adapter angemessen sind, ist aber eine andere Frage.
Außerdem sind die Ohrpolster leider geklebt, was einen Tausch in Zukunft etwas umständlich anmacht als es sein sollte. Die Audeze Maxwell haben ein exzellentes System zum Wechsel der Ohrpolster und es ist enttäuschend, das es hier nicht zum Einsatz kommt.

Fazit:
Ich kann die MM-100 allen, die einen offenen Kopfhörer im 500€ Bereich suchen sehr empfehlen. Vor allem weil sich der Blick über den Tellerrand der dynamischen Kopfhörer sehr rentiert und man hier für das Geld viel geboten bekommt.
