Artino PM-01 Practice Mute VN/VA

Denna övningssordin är ett måste för alla violinister. Man får en rejäl dämpning av ljudet vilket gör att man kan öva avslappnat både hemma i lägenhet, på hotellrum eller på andra platser där man inte vill störa.
Man får känslan att sordinen sitter lite uppepå stallet och man tror den ska ramla av först, men det gör den inte. Jag antar att det är en vanesak. Och det spelar ju ingen roll hur den sitter, bara den gör sitt jobb, att dämpa ljudet. Och det gör den väldigt bra.
Denna håller nog hur länge som helst och bör alltid finnas med i varje violinists låda.

Jag köpte denna ljuddämpare till min fiol då jag bor i en lägenhet och inte har något ljuddämpat rum eller studiorum att spela i. Jag är väldigt nöjd med produkten och tycker att priset var rimligt med tanke på dess kvalitet.

Ljuddämparen är tålig och har inga märkbara slitningar även efter ett par månaders användning.

Pros:
It does what it's supposed to and lowers the sound volume quite a lot.
*Cons:
It blocks the view somewhat but it's not a big deal.
While lowering the volume it also alters the timbre of the sound and kind of dampens the violin sound making it bulky. Great for practise but will not do justice to the violins sound.

It really dampens the sound a lot! The neighbors best friend. I am very happy with it, and it does what it should. But I will say that it doesn't just take away the volume, but also the bass. I used it almost all the time, and I must say that it wasn't too fun having a C-string losing so much bass sound. I heard it on a violin, and that sound felt more natural, but kills a bit too much bass on the viola to enjoy the sound. So perhaps be aware of this trade off.

This little thing right here paid for itself instantly, I live in an apartment in the city, neighbours all around me.
So when I started out playing my violin I played really soft and tried to be quiet and not make to much noise for fear of the dreaded broomstick in the ceiling underneath my place..
But then I found this little mute, and boy does it work!

It mutes the sound a great deal without removing the sound all together.
It really makes a difference being able to play faster and harder without having to fear the wrath of your neighbours.

This works great. I had bought the thomann violin starter and this one had problems being put on the bridge. But I loosened the nails and tried to expand the spaces that allow the bridge to slide in them so the muter could slide deeper into the bridge. You get a much muted sound but the tone is obviously still there. You no longer see the bow but you can see where you're bowing. The only thing I found weird about it was the fact that it doesn't go all the way down, which is fine and for the price, it does its job really well.

Dämpar ljudet som den ska. Praktiskt när man övar i lägenhet.
Mycket användbar för en liten peng!

A good practice mute your neighbours will thank you for! The tone dampens a lot, but the violin is still audible. As this mute sits loose on the bridge and is quite heavy - be careful to not drop it on your instrument!

Dämpar ljudet ordentligt. Dock försvinner mycket av skönheten i ljudet, så lite tråkigt. Men fyller sin funktion.
