Good voice tembre, but noisy
For this price I did not have too big expetcations. But backgroung noise level quite annoing. I expected more silent headphones amplifier and mic preamp.
But the temble is very warm, with good radio voice style. I like how it sounds. In a Front+Back mode voice becomes less "RadioStyle", but more transparent.
What I missing is switching off of a self-monitoring. It is ok for adjastemnts but not fot constant listening. And what to do if I want to monitof my effects chain through a monitiriung feture in Ableton Live, for example.

Excellent plug-and-play mic that delivers exactly what it promises
I bought the AKG Ara to upgrade my desktop audio setup, and it has easily met my expectations. It's a straightforward USB-C condenser microphone that offers fantastic value for the price without needing a complex setup.
The sound quality is natural and clear, capturing audio at 24-bit/96kHz. It has a smooth midrange that almost feels like a dynamic mic, which keeps voices from sounding overly harsh or artificial. The omnidirectional pattern is great, but i only use this in cardioid mode, which does a great job of focusing on my voice and ignoring room noise (mostly). From a usability standpoint, it is entirely plug-and-play. The zero-latency 3.5mm headphone jack and volume control on the front make monitoring effortless. The build quality is solid, and the included desk stand has a good weight to it to keep it planted. If you prefer, you can easily unscrew the base and mount the mic to a standard boom arm. To keep things grounded: this microphone won't magically turn an untreated, echoey bedroom into a professional recording studio, however, it absolutely shines at its intended purpose, providing reliable, high-quality desktop audio.
Overall, the Ara is a highly capable and easy to use piece of gear. If you want a significant, realistic upgrade from a headset mic or built-in laptop audio without dealing with audio interfaces and XLR cables, this is a fantastic choice.
